SAT / ACT TUTORING
Individual SAT or ACT tutoring can effectively help students improve scores. Private tutoring can be ideal for busy students, or for those who only need help with one or two sections of the test.
At Ames, students always work with the same tutor ensuring that there is a relationship, an understanding and a personal commitment between students and tutors. All of our tutors have tutoring and/or teaching experience and are trained by Bill Ames. The tutors are fantastic! Meet them here.
Included for tutoring students are Full-length practice tests offered throughout the year.
Fee: $100/hr - $90 when you purchase a block of 5 hrs.
Fee: $60/hr - $50 when you purchase a block of 5 hrs.

Hoping to make National Merit in October?
Want to get the SATs DONE this fall?
If this sounds like you, come work with Bill Ames in the summer and early fall with the goal of making National Merit and taking the SAT in the fall of junior year.
This special tutoring program includes working individually with Bill Ames, the founder of Ames Seminars, as well as practice tests and reviews. Most students will have about 10 private sessions; if students need to improve their scores on only one part of the test, there will likely be fewer sessions.
These sessions are for excellent students who are willing to do the work necessary to excel. We will be working with actual SAT tests, which will be provided.
These sessions usually begin in July, though some students start earlier due to summer plans. Most of the sessions should be completed before school starts so the tutoring will not impact the start of junior year. The last two individual sessions will be in September and October, just prior to the SAT tests. During the tutoring, students will take a minimum of five SAT tests.
In addition to the private tutoring with Bill Ames, the program includes (no additional fees):
- A PSAT practice test and test group review session
- A full-length SAT practice test
- Fall and Spring SAT group review sessions
- Unlimited online practice
